Stop Waiting, Start Doing
With the new year upon us, everyone is talking about new beginnings, new year, new me, resolutions, goals, do overs, second chances, etcetera, etcetera. I can’t help but get a little annoyed at us as a society. We are so conditioned to think that we need radical things to happen for us to make a shift in our lives, to implement the changes we’ve been dreaming about for weeks, months or years.
It takes a new year, or a birthday, or a promotion, or getting engaged, or pregnant, for us to get off our asses and into action. Even then, we sometimes end right back on our asses a month or three later. We live for these monumental moments to kick-start our betterment and then as soon as we start showing signs of growth or change, we get scared; we take 10 steps back and whimper in a corner like a scared puppy. We’re scared of the greatness within us.
What is it about our humanness that leaves us afraid of what we can become, scared of the amazing beings we are and what we can share with the world? Why are we afraid of making the radical choice to BE HAPPY?
We live a half-life, always settling, saying things like “it is what it is”, “it’s fine” or “it’s okay.”
Why the hell is half better than whole!? Why do you settle for less when you are worth more? Why do you justify a half when you deserve a whole?
Stop with the lies, the half-truths, the acceptance of mediocrity, and start living!
Start stepping into the life you want, because you freaken deserve it so much!!!
Start small if you must, but just start!
Say what you want, and then demand it.
Believe you deserve more, and then accept it.
See the value you own, and carry it.
Don’t wait for tomorrow or next week or next month or next year. Make the choice today and start actioning it today. You deserve it!! Stop being selfish and getting in your own way!
